Meet Amber
Helping healthcare practices sort the systems, administration and workflows happening behind the scenes.
How Amber Became Part of Our Extended Team
Amber first came into the My Great Bookkeeper world through one of our long-standing healthcare clients, where she works full-time.
Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to work closely alongside her, particularly around Halaxy, healthcare administration and practice-management systems.
And somewhere along the way, we realised Amber was rather good at exactly the sort of work some of our other healthcare clients occasionally need too.
These days, Amber also lends that experience to selected My Great Bookkeeper clients outside standard business hours.
We just get to share a little of the magic.
Amber remains very much part of the team she works with full-time, while also becoming part of our extended My Great Bookkeeper team when additional healthcare administration or Halaxy support is needed.
When Administration Is More Than Administration
Working behind the scenes in healthcare carries a very different responsibility from ordinary office administration.
Practice-management systems can contain sensitive patient information, appointments, communications, invoices, payments and details connected to people who may already be dealing with difficult circumstances.
So the people trusted to work behind the scenes need to be trusted too.
Amber understands that.
She is polite, caring and careful in the way she communicates, and she understands that a patient who is already seeking help may need an administrative conversation handled with a little more sensitivity.
What Does That Mean for Your Practice?
Patient Communication Matters
Sometimes an administrative message reaches someone who may already be having a very difficult day.
Amber understands that the way we communicate matters, particularly when someone is already seeking help.
Why It Matters
Patient communication can still be clear and professional without being cold.
Where administrative contact is appropriate, Amber approaches it politely and carefully, understanding that there is a real person behind the patient record.
Anything requiring a clinical, financial or practice decision remains with the appropriate practitioner or practice.
Compassion and Accounts Can Coexist
Being understanding does not mean allowing an unpaid account to quietly become a much bigger problem.
That can ultimately make things harder for both the patient and the practice.
Why It Matters
Amber understands the importance of respectful follow-up and keeping outstanding accounts visible.
Her role is not to make clinical or financial decisions for a patient.
It is to help make sure an administrative issue is noticed, communicated appropriately and referred back to the practice when a decision needs to be made.
Practitioners Have Better Things to Do
Psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, counsellors and other healthcare professionals did not train for years so they could spend their evenings fighting with practice-management software.
That’s Where Amber Helps
Amber works behind the scenes with Halaxy administration, workflows and practice systems.
Sometimes that means ongoing support.
Other times something lands, Amber investigates it, gets the process organised and helps leave the practitioner with a system that works better than it did before.
That is a big part of why we call her our Halaxy Fairy.
Kindness Matters — Especially When Someone Is Already Seeking Help
Amber has learnt that healthcare administration sometimes needs a different approach from ordinary business debt follow-up.
Someone receiving mental-health or allied-health support may already have far more going on than the invoice sitting in front of them.
That deserves consideration.
At the same time, allowing an unpaid balance to quietly grow can eventually make the situation more difficult for both the patient and the practice.
Where an account needs attention, Amber can help keep it visible, communicate appropriately and make sure anything requiring a decision is referred back to the practice.
Compassionate doesn’t mean ignoring the problem.
Sometimes good administration means dealing with something early, before it becomes harder for everyone.
What Can Our Halaxy Fairy Help With?
Much of Amber’s work happens behind the scenes in Halaxy practice-management environments.
Some work is ongoing.
Other times something simply needs to be investigated, cleaned up, organised or made easier for the practice to use.
🐰 Patient Accounts & Invoicing
Helping keep invoices, payments and outstanding accounts organised while remembering there is a real person behind every patient record.
🐰 Practice Workflows
Looking at how administrative work moves through the practice, identifying where things are getting stuck and helping make the process smoother for practitioners and administration staff.
🐰 Practitioner Setup
Helping organise the administrative side of a practitioner’s setup so the practice-management system supports their work instead of becoming another thing they have to battle with.
🐰 Patient Communication
Supporting appropriate administrative communication politely and carefully, particularly where circumstances call for a gentler approach.
🐰 Accounts Receivable Follow-Up
Helping prevent unpaid patient accounts from quietly becoming larger problems while keeping communication respectful and decisions with the practice.
🐰 Fixing What Isn’t Working
Sometimes Amber’s role is simply to go in, work through a problem, tidy the process, make the system more usable and leave the practitioner with something that works better than it did before.
Want to See How We Work With Halaxy?
Amber is one part of the bigger picture.
If you use Halaxy in your practice, you can also explore how My Great Bookkeeper approaches the bookkeeping, administration and workflows that sit behind it.
Why Do We Call Her the Halaxy Fairy?
A practitioner finishes for the day.
Something in Halaxy needs sorting.
A workflow is not quite working.
An account needs investigating.
A setup needs fixing.
And sometime after the usual business day...
Because Amber works full-time with one of our healthcare clients, the additional work she helps us with generally happens outside standard business hours.
You may hear from her after around 5:30pm Monday to Friday or over the weekend.
Quite often, that timing works beautifully.
While practitioners are away from their desks, Amber can work behind the scenes — checking, sorting, organising and helping get things ready for the practice.
Then the practitioner comes back.
That’s the Fairy.
Healthcare Is a Team Environment
Through her work in healthcare and alongside My Great Bookkeeper, Amber has experience working with practitioners and administration teams across different healthcare settings.

High Energy. Polite. Caring. Determined to Get It Sorted.
Amber brings a lot of energy to what she does.
She is polite, caring and approachable, and when she takes something on she genuinely wants to do the best job she can.
That matters when she is working with practitioners.
It matters when she is communicating with patients.
And it particularly matters when she is trusted with the administrative information sitting behind a healthcare practice.
- 🛡 Patient information deserves discretion.
- 🛡 Practitioners deserve reliable support.
- 🛡 Administrative problems deserve follow-through.
- 🛡 People deserve to be treated respectfully.

The Fairy Works Behind the Scenes — So You Can Work Out Front
Healthcare practitioners did not train for years so they could spend their evenings trying to work out why something in their practice-management system is not behaving itself.
They should be able to concentrate on their patients.
Amber helps with what is happening behind the scenes.
- 🛡 Systems organised.
- 🛡 Administrative problems investigated.
- 🛡 Accounts kept visible.
- 🛡 Practitioners supported.
- 🛡 Patients treated respectfully.
It takes some of the administrative weight off their shoulders.
And sometimes, apparently, that takes a Fairy. 🧚

What’s working beautifully — and what is driving you absolutely mad?
Is there something in Halaxy you’ve been meaning to sort out for months?
A workflow that takes far too long?
Patient accounts that need a little more attention?
Or are you simply spending too much of your own time doing administration when you would rather be looking after your patients?
You don’t need to have all the answers.
Tell us what is happening, what you would love to make easier, and where you think a little Halaxy Fairy magic might help.
Then let’s chat about your practice.
