QUICKBOOKS SPECIALIST

Right now, we are looking for a Remote QuickBooks specialist with sold Australian experience who genuinely understands QuickBooks Online — not just data entry, but how transactions flow, how reports are affected, and how to set up and manage files correctly.

This is an opportunity to work with an established BAS Agent Services firm, supporting real businesses with real bookkeeping issues. We are open to contract or employee arrangements, depending on experience and availability, and we value clear communication, accuracy, and professional judgment.

If you are confident in QuickBooks, comfortable explaining your work, and enjoy fixing problems properly, you will fit in well here.

Remote Working Requirements

This is a fully remote position, and we work closely together online during agreed shift hours. To be successful in this role, you must have:

A quiet, dedicated workspace with no background noise or interruptions

Availability during agreed working hours, as collaboration and responsiveness are essential

A professional environment suitable for focused client and compliance work

Due to the nature of compliance and client work, if you have children or other caregiving responsibilities, they must be fully cared for by someone else during working hours.

You may work from any location of your choosing, provided it meets the requirement of being a quiet, interruption-free office environment.

You must also have excellent, reliable high-speed internet access and a fast, modern laptop or computer capable of handling cloud-based systems without performance issues.

How We Work

We offer both contract and employee arrangements.

  • Contract roles are paid on a percentage basis.
  • Employee roles are structured with hourly or salary pay.

The structure will depend on experience, availability, and fit.

What We Care About

Accuracy and keyboard skills, that means you need to actually know your home keys. The service we provide, is top quality, so while accuracy is nice that is so much easier when you know if you hit the wrong button on the keyboard.

Clear communication.

Doing things properly, not “good enough”.

Being able to explain what you’re doing and why.

Important Requirements – Please Read Before Applying

This role is currently only for an experienced QuickBooks specialist only.

We are not looking for juniors, recent graduates, or people learning as they go.

You must be performing the work yourself, you are not free to engage others to do the work for you.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Minimum 5 years solid QuickBooks experience
  • Experience across multiple industries
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end bookkeeping
  • Must know how to reconcile intercompany loan accounts properly
  • Must be able to explain why entries are done — not just how
  • A BAS Agent licence is not required for this role

Interview Process (Non-Negotiable)

You must be able to attend an in-person interview in Sydney
No online interviews.
Technology makes it too easy to hide who you are and where you are — we need to meet you personally.

During the interview, you will be asked technical questions.

You will be required to demonstrate what you actually know, so please bring your computer.

It is in this meeting that we will beable to see if you know your keyboard with your home keys, so if you are not being honest, you will waste your time coming to the interview as you will have just failed the integrity test.

We have found that many candidates look good on paper but cannot perform the work.
This process exists to avoid that.

Because this role involves access to financial information, the following are mandatory:

  • A current police check
  • Three professional references
  • References must be from previous clients or employers
  • They must not be friends
  • We will be contacting them.
  • We are looking for genuine experience — not titles, degrees, or exaggerated resumes.

  • Can’t explain your work clearly
  • This role will not be a fit.
